Feodor Rückert’s workshop produced many such three-handled loving cups in a range of sizes. In fact, his firm produced most vessels in this form in Russia, whether enameled or not. This loving cup is decorated with three vignettes copied from or inspired by important or central characters from Konstantin Makovsky's (1839-1915) paintings depicting the lives and rituals of the boyar class or Russian traditional culture.
